General Introduction and Purpose of Establishment
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Aksaray University Faculty of Medicine is an academic unit dedicated to the protection and promotion of women’s health and the delivery of reproductive health services based on scientific principles. Since its establishment, the department has aimed to train qualified physicians at both undergraduate and specialty levels.
Educational Activities
Our educational activities are guided by up-to-date national and international guidelines, with a focus on enhancing students’ clinical skills through hands-on training. Scientific research is ongoing in areas such as obstetrics, perinatology, gynecology, reproductive health, and minimally invasive surgery. We prioritize academic productivity through innovative approaches and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Service Areas
In coordination with Aksaray Training and Research Hospital, our department provides comprehensive healthcare services ranging from routine prenatal care to the management of high-risk pregnancies, childbirth services, and the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological conditions. Modern surgical techniques and patient safety are central to our clinical practice.
Research and Scientific Activities
Scientific productivity is encouraged across all subfields of obstetrics and gynecology. Our main research areas include perinatology, gynecologic surgery, reproductive health, obstetric outcomes related to infection and inflammation, and minimally invasive surgical techniques. Both retrospective and prospective clinical studies are conducted using data tailored to local health needs. Our academic staff actively publishes in national and international journals and presents at scientific congresses. We also contribute to innovative projects through interdisciplinary partnerships.
